Paris – Paris is security-proofed for the weekend after a week of protests against the blasphemous film throughout Islam.
The wave of protests also concerned the cartoons on Mohammed published by the French satirical paper Charlie Hebdo.
A squadron of 800 police agents was unleashed in all the places at risk in the French capital: mosques, cultural institutes and especially the newspaper’s head office.
The Gendarmerie arrested 21 persons, including several women wearing a veil, close to Place de la Concorde and blocked unauthorized protest marches starting out from the Trocadero and the Grand Mosquee.
Interior Minister Manuel Valls informed that the French Government „will give a show of great resoluteness” and French Muslim Associations CFCM and UOIF collaborated calling on followers to keep calm and avoid the protest demonstrations. (AGI)
